Twitter beefs are a wonderful thing. You get to watch people try and outdo one another in a series of 140 characters, and the results can make national headlines. That's exactly what happened with Honda and many high profile foods on the social media site as Honda looked to promote an innovative feature on its most family-friendly vehicle.

As you might recall from a post on the Barbour-Hendrick Honda Greenville blog, the Odyssey now features a built-in vacuum called the HondaVac, and it is designed to keep your vehicle clean at all times, with a wide-reaching hose and a pull that can suck up even the most stubborn of dirt, grime, and food crumbs.

To let these other brands know that their leftovers will no longer be found in the spacious cabin, Honda tweeted at the likes of Doritos, Taco Bell, Oreo, Nature Valley, and Skittles to tell them they'll all be victim to the HondaVac.

Of course, food brands don't play like that, so many decided to counter, and the feud was on. Oreo told Honda that their Mega Stuf cookies wouldn't fit, and Honda assured them that it would, with photos and all. Nature Valley called the whole exercise a "crumby campaign."

All in good fun, of course.

It made quite the impact online, too. Over 10.6 million impressions were made, which is very good for a company like Honda, which still garners an above-average 500,000 in a given day on social media.

To take a closer look at the HondaVac or any other new Honda model, stop in and see us at Barbour-Hendrick Honda Greenville. Here in our Greenville, NC showroom, we'd be happy to answer any questions and arrange test drives.
