Honda Announces Its Electric Vehicle Lineup For the Future

With the impending release of the 2024 Honda Prologue, the Japanese automaker is poised to enter the EV market for the first time. In April 2023, Honda laid out plans to reach their zero-emission goal by the year 2040. Their plan starts with the Honda Prologue and a lineup of affordable EVs developed in conjunction with GM. In addition to the brand's current lineup of hybrid models, they plan to revamp their entire lineup, creating a 100 percent electrified lineup by 2040 and producing 2 million EVs per year by 2030.

Honda has recently announced that Ohio will be the primary hub for its electric vehicle production. The automaker aims to renovate the Marysville Auto Plant, Liberty Auto Plant, and one powertrain production facility to manufacture the Honda Prologue and the mid-to-large size EV they plan to launch by 2025. The company will also revamp its Saitama Factory in Japan to operate the facility with 100% clean energy. These efforts demonstrate Honda's commitment to sustainable production and contributing to the global efforts towards reducing carbon emissions.

Honda has set its sights on achieving two important goals as part of its long-term strategy. Firstly, the company plans to release 10 or more electric motorcycle models worldwide by 2025. This move is in response to the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation options outside of cars, trucks, and SUVS and Honda's commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

Secondly, Honda aims to launch their EV charging service based on the Honda SmartCharge system. This system allows customers to optimize their EV charging experience, making it more efficient and convenient.
