What's New In The 2023 Honda HR-V?
Expect the 2023 Honda HR-V to be more versatile, comfortable, and maneuverable compared to its predecessor. The dimensions of the vehicle have increased. It is wider and longer than its predecessor, which means bigger cabin space for passengers and cargo. Unfortunately, Honda ditched the Magic Seat feature, but it doesn't remove the fact that the HR-V is still one of the most versatile crossovers in the segment. It now uses the Civic's platform, which means improved performance, better handling, fantastic stability, and reduced body roll. Honda replaced the rear torsion beam with an independent rear suspension to increase ride comfort. Inside, it receives an equipment upgrade and more advanced safety features. Â
The HR-V's interior centers around either a standard 5-inch or available 7-inch infotainment touchscreen. Standard infotainment features include a four-speaker stereo system, a USB port, and more. Available features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay®, an additional USB port, a six-speaker stereo system, high-definition radio, automatic climate control, a push-button start, proximity keyless entry, a moonroof, and more. The HR-V can seat up to five people.
The HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 141 horsepower. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
The HR-V offers a range of driver assistance features, including road departure mitigation, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
The HR-V is offered in four trims: LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L.
History Of The Honda HR-V
The Honda HR-V debuted as a J-WJ concept, which was one of four Honda J-Mover Series concepts that were unveiled at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show. The HR-V was targeted toward a younger demographic.
